The tech massive has been granted a patent for a shade-converting band for the Apple Watch, which could allow users to select various coloration combinations using an app on the watch itself. According to Patently Apple, who noticed it to start with, the United States Patent and Trademark Office officially granted Apple a patent for a material Apple Watch band with an electrochromic feature. The bands have coloration-adjustable elements which can trade the colour scheme and design in 3 separate band zones for a customisable appearance unique to the consumer. Additionally, folks that are fashion-conscious could be able to coordinate the colour scheme in their watch band with their apparel.

For example, a client might need a watch band in a specific variety in view of the client’s decision of garments, different things to wear, the client’s current circumstance, or another inclination, the report said. Some watches currently available let the client take off and switch watch groups to make the watch more remarkable. According to the supplement, the electrochromic layer may also contain a polymer layer that reacts to change colour when a voltage is applied.

The tech juggernaut added that colour choices could be made and altered without removing and switching out the watch band. As a result, different colours can be displayed at various times without the need for unique watch bands for every colour or colour combination.

According to the report, the patent was created by four people Zhengyu Li, Chia Chi Wu, and Qiliang Xu, and three of them had previously conducted research on touch-sensitive fabrics for a potential HomePod.
